I'm super excited to report that I made the DT over at Sketches 4 You.  We are going to have a big Valentine's Day event coming up at the beginning of February.  Full of prizes and fun challenges.  I hope you'll join us for a fun scrappy time.  Stay tune for more details.

Another fun get together in the desert.  Trinity, my sister and I rolled down a big sand dune in the desert.  Now this is something that I haven't done in a REALLY long time.  It was fun but running back up sure wasn't.  I think this Mama need to exercise a little more.  Phew.

So I'm back at it again today.  I love having a 3 day weekend.  I got a TON done around the house, had bunches of fun with the kids and still had time to get in some scrappin'.  Here are the kids at the park from the last time I had a 3 days off from work. 

I used the January 15th Sketch from Stuck Sketches.
I tried my hand at this weeks song over at Scrap it with a Song.  Born To Fly by Sara Evans is such a fun song.  Last weeks layout I posted it to late and didn't qualify for the challenge.  So, for this week I'm doing it early.

I almost forgot to mention...I used a mist on my layout finally.  I have seen this around for a while now and have really wanted to try it.  I think for my first time it came out alright.  What do you think?

all the right MOVES

My shy girl breaking it down with Meme (Great Grandma) at my sisters house.  I still can't believe I got pictures of it.  I finally got to get back to my girly side for this layout.

When I first saw this sketch I wasn't so sure about it.  But, then I found the perfect paper and pictures and now it's one of my favorite layouts.  I have felt in a bit of a funk lately and thanks to Sketch Inspiration I broke it. 

I came across a new blog last week and thought it was a bit differnt.  Each week (Monday) Scrap it with a Song comes out with a new song that you can interpret into you layout, card, etc any way you want.  I thought why not give it a try.  This weeks song was by OneRepublic - All The Right Moves.

Apple Picking

My sister and I took my kids apple picking a few months ago.  We had a great time picking apples, walking around, Trinity got to ride a pony (Thanks Auntie Jenn) and good quality time together.  We decided it's a must do next year.

17+ Button Challenge from a new blog I found this week Scrapbookers Anonymous.  I thought that 17 buttons would be super hard but then I thought of using my buttons to make an apple tree.  I was surprised when I counted them all up 34. 

Pages in Time is Closed :(

Pages in Time was an Ning Site that I visited often but is now unfortunately closed.  :(  I'm not sure the who, what, when or why but I'll miss it.  However, Lacee Broyles started a new group and a lot of the same great ladies are apart of it, Bella Creations.  I'm looking forward to seeing what challenges they come up with.

Born to be Wild

It's been MONTHS since I have done a challenge from Pages In Time.  I went over to check in and see what was going on when I noticed the new challenges were out for January.  Hooray!!!  January Style Challenge posted by the DT Lacee Broyles.  I love PIT but most of the ladies are into vintage which isn't really my style but they always have new challenges every month which I like and a great group of ladies.  The theme of this months style challenge was GRUNGE.  I hope it's grungy enough.

 

I also used another great sketch from Trisha over at Sketch Inspiration.

New Look

I started messing around with my blog background last week.  I finally was able to figure it out today.  I'm not done there are a few more changes to come.  I'm wondering...what do you all think so far?

Another great sketch from Stuck?!  I thought I would do a summer time layout to warm all of us up from this cold winter weather we have been having in California.  My first one of the new year.
