Summer Games

Well, tomorrow being the last day of July I guess this will be my last layout of the month.  These photos are from our recent camping trip to the Kern River.

There is currently an Open Challenge for this week at Sketches In Thyme and I used Sketch #230 from Sketch Inspiration.

The OLW Challenge (Summer) from The Moments.

This is also my Challenge of the Month of August for Sketches 4 All.

Guest Designer Spot

I'm this weeks Guest Designer at Scrap it with a Song.  I'm super excited and honored.  This weeks song is, "The Way You Make Me Feel" by Michael Jackson.  I hope you all enjoy what I came up with.

Ok, now honestly these are not the best photos but I just had to scrap this event.  I wasn't there because it was a surprise for me but my DH, FIL, MIL and my two Kiddos made me a bench and painted it white.  My DH decided to have are kiddos put their hand prints all over it.  It's now in outside in yard which faces the grass area that the kids play in.

I used Sketch #229 from Sketch Inspiration.  This weeks sketch was totally perfect and the RAK isn't bad either.  ;)

The color combo of; Red, Orange, Yellow with one color of choice Blue from The Moments.

Organizing Time

Nothing new to my list this time around. But, I have been busy completing some items.

My Work In Progress Items:
45. Donate 50 items.  (38/50)
I donated an array of items...our kitchen table, our bedroom tv stand, Trin's outgrown clothes, dishes, baby bath towel, and more...

10. Sew a new “park” blanket.
All the material has been bought and I started cutting out squares.  I still have a long away to go but I'm glad to say I'm making progress.

25. Try 100 new recipes. (6/100)
Well, my Dad and in-laws came over this past weekend for dinner.  I made Sesame Chicken and Sauteed Baby Spinach both new recipes and it turned out well.

Tonight we tried a Chicken with fresh mushrooms recipe and OMG this turned out really well.  All 4 of us liked it and Greg even had seconds.

Complete Items:
67. Clean out, organize and put away new tupperware.
We had an organizing crazy time at my house and of course Luke wanted to help.  Here are the before and after pictures.

69. Clean out and organize junk drawer.
I do this about once a year and it sure was time.  The before and after of my junk drawer.

62. Replace bathroom hand towels.
For weeks Trinity's has been telling me, "Mama we need to have a girls night (or day)."  Well, we did just that on Sunday.  This consisted of dropping a gift off to a friend, Michael's Craft Store, Target (picked up new hand towels) and lunch out.  She had a blast and so did I.  After we got home we watched a movie - good old Strawberry Shortcake.  I couldn't of asked for a better Sunday afternoon.

I'll Find The Things They Say Can't Be Found

I'm super excited that I completed another double layout.  I think these are fun and I might do them from time to time but I really do enjoy single pages.  Easter being such a big event I thought it just had to be a double.  Oh, BTW I ran completely out of adhesive so I didn't glue down the letter before I took the picture.  Trinity and I picked some up this afternoon so it all done now.  :)

My first challenge for The Moments as part of the DT.  This months song is "Upside Down" by Jack Johnson.  This is such a cute and fun song.  My title for this layout comes from the lyrics.  I thought the pictures fit perfect with this song.

I missed the deadline for Sketches In Thyme this time around.  It's been crazy around here.  But, that's ok it was still a fun sketch and perfect for my double.

Ready Set Slide

Ok, my first ever official double layout.  I have scrapped the same event on two pages before but with different paper and embellies.  This is my first time scrapping a real double layout.  Although I did want to make Trinity's side girly and Luke's side more boyish.

I used the double challenge for July from The Moments.

The challenge had to have circles, only 1 flower and the color red.  I don't have just regular circles I thought it would be more challenging to think out of the box.  My circle brad has little circles/dots on it, the journaling on the bottom right side is made up of circles, most of my outer space stuff has circles and my metal charm says happiness is a circle.  The 'round in circles Challenge end on July 15th so hurry over.

Happy Kiddos

Adding more:
67. Clean out, organize and put away new tupperware.
68. File, shred and organize file draws.
69. Clean out and organize junk drawer.
70.

COMPLETED
61. Make jello gigglers. (7/3/11)
We had some weekend fun at home.

66. Make pretties (hair clips) for Trinity. (7/4/11)
Mommy had some weekend fun while they napped.  Trinity calls her hair clips, pretties even since she was small.  The brown with pink pocka dots I give to my niece, Hailey.  The rest are for Trinity.  Although I need more practice for sure, Trinity LOVE them all.

Starfish

My sister, her SIL & son plus me and my 2 kiddos all went to Sea World.  The kids had a good time touching the starfish and a turtle that was walking around on some open grass.  They got to see the dolphins, sharks, penguins and misl fish.  We are hoping to go back another time later in the year.

I used a Sketchabilities sketch which also happens to be the sketch for July at The Moments.

I started scrapping this page and couldn't find the right journaling card, tag, etc...So I decided that why not journal right onto my page.  I have seen other scrappers do this but never do it myself.  I'm not sure why I just don't.  Well, to my point, I thought this would be a great challenge for my July Challenge at Sketches 4 All.

I love, love to use color on my layout and this one is no expectation. However, my main color is craft/tan.  Now this is a color that I almost never scrap with.  Which just happens to be the point for the month of July at Scrapbookers Anonymous.

Over The Hump

I can't believe I'm over the half way hump. Hooray!!!

52. Make an apron.
53. Put all photos in albums.
54. Update photos that I have hanging in frames in the whole house.
55. Finish painting Luke's dresser.
56. Pop up a tent in the backyard and sleep overnight.
57. Finish remodeling our bathroom.
58. Go on a real date (with my DH).
59. Make a pie from scratch. (This includes the crust.)
60. Make and can salsa.
61. Make jello gigglers.

63. Go camping, just the 4 of us.
64. Keep my niece overnight.
65. Make homemade applesauce.
66. Make pretties (hair clips) for Trinity.
67.

In Progress:
51. Get 6 china tea cups with matching saucer. (1/6)
I don't like to only post one or two new list items so I wait until I have a few.  When my Great Grandma Trautwein passed away I got one of her china sets.  We have moved a few times and several pieces have been broken.  :(

Once a year for my birthday I host a tea party and use great Grandma T's set.  I thought it would be fun if everyone had a different tea cup.  I had mentioned it to my MIL and apparently she remembered.  We recently spent a 3 day weekend camping up in Kernville, CA.  They had this cute tiny shopping area with antique stores, ice cream parlor and a huge grassy area.  My MIL told me that she wanted to buy me a cup for my new collection.  I was so surprised and generally touched.  I felt like a kid in a candy store.  It was super hard for me to decide but here is the one I picked.

12. Visit 100 random blogs and leave comment(s). (13/100)
Chasing The Now without a doubt is my favorite blog that I have ever came across.  She blogs about her everyday life, food, exercise, etc... I have a feeling I'll be back to see her again.

Completed:
32. Do something that scares me.
The smart cookie that my big sis is, told me after we got back from our camping trip, that I should of added white water rafting to my list.  I totally should have because it is something that I have wanted to do but never thought I would.  After I hung up with her I got to thinking I did complete one of my items without even realizing it, LOL.  #32 Do something that scares me.  I tend to stick to things that I'm comfortable with.  Us falling into the water, the part of rafting that scares me the most, definitely checks this one off my list.
