God Bless The USA

My DH found some sparklers from last 4th of July and we lite them up in the front yard, back in January.  With July 4th just around the corner I thought how fitting it would be to scrap these photos.

Next month on July 15th I'll be posting my first "Scrap that Tune" Challenge for The Moments.  I thought it would be a good idea to try out the June challenge that is currently posted.  The June song is, "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwoods.

Red, White & Blue Challenge from our wonder DT Doris Widder at Sketches 4 All.

Sketches in Thyme is having there Open Challenge this week.  For my entry I used Sketch ##226 from the wonderful Sketch Inspiration.

Scrap Card

I used a sketch for the "2nd card sketch June Challenge" at Sketches 4 All.  This sketch to my surprise was a lot harder than I had expected.  But, I do like the end product.  I'm mailing it out to a friend of mine today.

The minute I saw this sketch it made me think of this months challenge happening over at Scrapbookers Anonymous.  Normally I only do a layout for them but this month I'm going to get to submit a card as well.  Which  makes me super happy.  :)

Watch Out!!

At my daughter Trinity 4th birthday her and her cousin were play horseshoes in our backyard.  I remember when my DH built these just in time for her 1st birthday party.  I never would have thought that she would be playing horseshoes just a few years later.

Sketch Inspiration #225.

I also used the "Time Challenge" from Sketches 4 All

38. Buy something off etsy that I think is cute.
39. Get a pedicure.
40. Put all of my recipes on cards and file in my recipe box.
41. Stay at a B&B.
42. Get a tattoo.

45. Donate 50 items.  (0/50)
46. Eat at a restaurant I’ve never tried before.
47. Use my bread maker.
48. Send a card to a random address.
49. Go to a Farmers Market.
50.

In progress:
1. Finish creating my 101 in 1001 list. (49/101)

9. Do something for someone else (5 different people) that is completely unselfish. (1/5)
I lost my mom almost 5 years ago.  She was one of the most caring people that I have ever known.  Whenever I had a question, needed directions or just a sounding board she was the one that I would call.  Losing her was extremely difficult and she will NEVER be replaced.

Anyways the point of my #9 on my list.  My friend Keri who I only met 2 years ago is truly wonderful person and reminds me of my mother.  Sweet, kind, understanding, honest and genuine.  She had been there for me over these past few difficult years and is a true friend.  I wanted to do something for her because she is so important to me.  It's not much but here is a little something that I picked out for her.

11. Pay off credit cards. (1/2)
Granted I have a LONG way to go on the other credit card but this one is complete.  We have paid off about $6,000 in the past 3-1/2 years.  It has been extra hard because my DH has been on/off working the past two years but it has been a big time goal of mine to get 100% credit card free.

12. Visit 100 random blogs and leave comment(s). (12/100)
Here is a very cool ones that I came across, http://www.thenheathersaid.com/, http://paisleystudio.blogspot.com/ and http://fountainescapades.blogspot.com/.

20. Take pictures of items when completing them, if possible. (5)

Completed:
35. Go to an air show - 6/11/2011.
This past weekend we went to the Hemet Ryan Air Show.  I have never been to an air show before so I had no idea what to expect.  I did bring water for us all and a sandwich size bag of gold fish, raisins, animal cracker and dried apples for the kids.  I wasn't sure what they would let us bring in so I didn't want to over pack.  When get there we noticed people brought in chairs, blankets and full size ice chests.  When we go next year I'll know what to pack.  But, even though unprepared we had a great family outing.

Blow On Your Nails

It amazes me how big my daughter is getting.  She is very independent when she wants to be.  She asked the other day, "Mama can I paint my nails."  Ok, honey *cringe*.  A little paint on the table but that's ok to my surprise she did an amazing job.

For my layout I used the first sketch for June at Sketches 4 All.

This months challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous is to use at least 3 sheets from a mini paper pack.  I actually used four from the same mini pack.

I found a new scrap forum and here is my first challenge from their site.  Use Your Stash: Paper Scraps from The Moments.  LOL, this was an easy one I use paper from my mini pack but they were actually scrap from that pack.  Plus, the pink paper everything is on is a scrap too.

I Completed An Item - HOORAY!!!

Adding more:
31.  Take a drive with an unplanned destination.
32.  Do something that scares me.
33.  Re-paper my kitchen shelves.
34.  Visit Catalina Island.
35.  Go to an air show.
36.

In progress:
20. Take pictures of items when completing them, if possible. (4)

25. Try 100 new recipes. (3/100)
I have completed two more of this one since last time.

One: Chocolate Chip, Almond and Coconut Cookies
I offered to bring something to a BBQ at my BIL & SIL house.  My son wanted to help.  :)  In my opinion these turned out fabulous.

Two: Baked Oatmeal
Now this turned out ok.  Not good or bad.  If you have a ton of oatmeal in your cupboard, like me, then this is a great way to use it up.  Nice quick breakfast for something different.

29. Watch my wedding video. - COMPLETED
Ok, this was freakin' hilarious.  My sister surprised us and had her friend video our wedding so it wasn't a professional with editing.  I'm not complaining but this is an important part of the story.  Originally when the DVD's were given to me that weren't formatted and we couldn't watch the videos.  Then he fix them and my sister told me to make sure they worked now.  I checked and yes both worked but I only watched a second or two of both DVD's.  I didn't watch the whole thing, until the other day.  My friends and family are comical from the advise, speeches, the flower girl and reception dancing.  THANK YOU to my big sis for having this done.  I can't wait to watch it again one day.

Double Trouble

My MIL often will say, "Here comes Trouble." when one of the grand kids are heading her way.  Most of the time she is referring to my son.  He might be a little guy but don't underestimate him because he is small.  He is a wonderful little man but you really do have to keep one eye on him at all times.  Needless to say this title was not hard for me to come up with.

I used this weeks sketch from Sketch Inspiration

I took A trek to India for Christy's June Challenge.
And, not only some help from my MIL but also some title help from this weeks song, "There's Your Trouble" by the Dixie Chicks.
